Google Cloud Architect Certification - Dumpsprofessor.us

I'm happy to announce that I passed my Google Cloud Architect Certification today. It was a challenging exam, lots of case study type questions, and it covered the whole gamut of GCP resources, along with related technologies such as CI/CD, containers, software development, IoT, and big data analysis.

If you are interested in pursuing this certification, I used the following resources to prepare.

GCP Account - First and foremost, get yourself a GCP account and start experimenting with the console and various resources. Google gives you a $300 credit with 1 year to use it, and that's more than enough. I have $250 left and I used alot of resources over the past few months. Be aware of which resources you have active, shut things down when you're done for the day, and setup billing alerts so you don't get any surprises.

Coursera Course: Architecting with GCP - This provides a great detailed explanation of each of the resources along with labs for hands on practice. The first week is free, so if you're really motivated, you can get through most or all of it for free.

Documentation - After getting familiar with each of the resources, dive into the marketing and technical documentation for each resource. This can be a bit time consuming, but it will fill in the gaps and get you thinking about which items you need to spend more time working with. Start with the overview pages for each resources and dig deeper from there. There are tons of How-To's in the documentation, so run through some of these for any items you're having trouble fully grasping.

Review Case Studies - There are 4 cases studies that are used on the exam and available online, review these and think through which resources you may use to deploy each solution into GCP. This will save you some time when you take the exam, since they use same case studies.

GCP Practice Questions - Google has a set of practice questions available for free and Dumpsprofessor has a really good set of practice tests for around $10, highly recommended. Do this last once you feel you're almost ready, and dig deeper on any questions you get wrong to understand the concepts involved.
